The library's picture-book room is a cozy spot for reading.
The Children’s Room at Seymour Library offers books, magazines, movies, audiobooks and other materials that children love. We offer Storytimes, a summer reading program and special events that make learning fun.
Storytimes introduce even our youngest visitors to the joy of reading.
Storytime on the Lawn is one of our most popular summer programs and is generally offered July through mid-August. No registration is needed for Storytime on the Lawn; just bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating.
Storytimes for toddlers and preschoolers are offered Tuesdays and Wednesdays through the school year. Saturday Storytime and Pajama Storytime are offered monthly through the school year. Check the calendar for dates and times. Registration is required for school-year Storytime sessions. To sign up, please call the library at 252-2571.
Face (and arm) painting was a popular attraction at our 2010 summer reading kickoff party.
Summer programs encourage children to visit the library and keep their reading skills sharp. Summer events include performers, craft programs and Storytimes on the Lawn.
The Teen Area
Books and magazines that appeal to young adults are available in the teen area. Our recently created Teen Advisory Board makes recommendations for books and programs.
